Job summary

WindRiver Companies is seeking an experienced Cook for our senior living community in Chicago. The role focuses on preparing comforting home-style meals and occasional gourmet dishes in a supportive setting at Cedar Creek Lodge.

Hours are part-time from 6am to 6pm, with flexible evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will work with a culinary team to ensure safe, tasty meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant, hotel, or senior living community preferred.
• Experience as a short order cook required.
• Must have full scale recipe production experience.
• A genuine passion for food and a desire to create memorable dining experiences.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook delicious and nutritious meals according to menu specifications and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times.
• Collaborate with our culinary team to develop innovative menu ideas and seasonal offerings.
