Job summary

Discovery Management Group seeks a Cook to deliver quality, well-presented meals for our senior living communities. You will follow menus, standard recipes, and safety guidelines to create a warm, home-like dining experience for residents.

Ideal candidates bring prior senior living foodservice experience, strong organization, teamwork, and attention to detail. Weekend availability is preferred, with competitive wages and benefits offered by our organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior living or a similar environment preferred.
• Knowledge of production methods, portion control, and food safety/handling.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
• High attention to detail, especially in presentation and plating.
• Availability to work weekends as part of the regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items across grill, sauté, salad bar, and service line.
• Follow standardized recipes to ensure proper prep, portions, taste, and presentation.
• Taste and check food for quality and adherence to culinary standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all prep and service areas.
• Uphold food safety and handling guidelines, including temperature logs and storage.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create an exceptional dining experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
