Dial Senior Living in Omaha, NE is hiring a Cook to independently prepare meals and support food production, ensuring high quality and safety standards. You will assist the chef, adapt menus for residents, and maintain clean, organized kitchen and storage areas.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and dietary guidelines.
• State food-handling and kitchen regulations.
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Operation of kitchen appliances and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents with attention to quality and presentation.
• Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs of residents.
• Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next week's menus and report to the supervisor.
• Participate in new menu and special menu planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and kitchen/storage areas.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
• Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery.
• Assist with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation, as needed.
• Notify manager of food supply needs and malfunctioning equipment or appliances.
• Record Ready-to-Use food items into the TELS website; three items per meal.
• Record cooler, freezer and dish machine temperatures in the TELS website.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the shift.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and operations.
