Job summary

Dial Senior Living is seeking a dedicated cook to independently prepare meals and manage food production for residents. You will support the Sous or Executive Chef to maintain high quality food and safety standards in a senior living environment.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, adapting recipes for dietary needs, and ensuring attractive plate presentation. You will help plan menus, maintain cleanliness, and manage storage and infection-control practices.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 2+ years of cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and dietary guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents with attention to quality and presentation.
• Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs of residents.
• Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus and report to the supervisor.
• Participate in new menu and special menu planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and kitchen/storage areas.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
• Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery.
• Assist with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation, as needed.
• Notify manager of food supply needs and malfunctioning equipment or appliances.
• Record cooler, freezer and dish machine temperatures in the TELS website.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Other duties as assigned.
