Job summary

Jewish Family Services in Wisconsin provides hands-on assistance to residents in a licensed assisted living facility, focusing on daily living activities, health and care management, and maintaining privacy and security. The role operates under supervision of the Director of Assisted Living and/or licensed nurse.

Responsibilities include immediate response to resident calls, helping with daily activities, meals, personal laundry, and ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year experience working as a direct caregiver for older adults and/or adults with disabilities.
• Approachable, customer service orientation with sensitivity to a diverse resident population.
• CBRF certified for medication administration; first aid/choking, fire safety, and standard precautions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn computer programs specific, including an Electronic Medication Administration Record system and a Nurse Call system.

Responsibilities

• Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including showering, bathing and/or toilet needs including incontinent care.
• Assist with resident activities and meals in the dining room.
• Assist with or perform residents’ personal laundry and linens as needed.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with residents and families; document care as required.
• Report changes in resident condition to the RN, CARE Coordinator, or Lead Resident Assistant.
