Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services seeks a Care Attendant to provide personal care and health-related services to residents. The role reports to the Housing Manager and emphasizes maintaining residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Requirements include ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate (preferred), English reading/writing/speaking ability, and attendance of dementia training. Full-time position includes shift differentials and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (shampooing, showering, lotions, nail and foot care) and activities of daily living as assigned.
• Assist with dressing, grooming and oral care as assigned.
• Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
• Promote independence and self-help skills for residents.
• Administer or assist with medications as delegated by RN.
• Take and record vital signs as instructed.
• Assist with meal preparation following prescribed plans.
• Lead or assist resident activities as scheduled.
• Follow policies including HIPAA, dementia training requirements and safety procedures.
