Job summary

HarborChase of Boynton is seeking an Activities Associate to plan, coordinate, and run all community activities for residents in a caring senior living environment.

The role supports the DLE, helps plan the monthly calendar and newsletters, and encourages resident participation while promoting independence. It involves occasional outings, supply ordering, safety, and privacy considerations, with potential driving duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Background in art, music, drama, or occupational therapy preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts.
• One-year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Dementia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DLE with planning, coordinating and running all community activities.
• Assist with planning the monthly activities calendar and monthly newsletter (if necessary).
• Encourage residents to participate in community activities, assisting them to attend, while supporting the resident’s independence.
• Help with ordering supplies and equipment for regular activities.
• May be required to attend outings off-site and help to keep track of residents ensuring a meaningful and safe trip for all.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the DLE.
• Help maintain the Activity Participation Tracking Chart, if applicable.
• Assists in the success of the community Parallel Programming schedule.
• When interacting with residents and/or family members, is mindful of the Resident’s Rights to Privacy.
• May be required to safely drive the residents to and from the activities when needed.
• The ability to work in a safe and alert manner.
• The ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residents.
• Must disclose any medication that might impair associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently.
