Job summary

HarborChase in Rock Hill, SC is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and coordinate community activities, encourage resident participation, and support independence. You will assist with monthly calendars and newsletters, help order supplies, and may accompany residents on outings to ensure safety and engagement.

The role requires effective communication with residents, families, and staff, and a background in activities for seniors is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Background in art, music, drama, or occupational therapy preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts.
• One-year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's Dementia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DLE with planning, coordinating and running all community activities.
• Assist with planning of the monthly activities calendar and monthly newsletter (if necessary).
• Encourage residents to participate in community activities, assisting them to attend, while supporting independence.
• Help with ordering supplies and equipment for regular activities.
• May attend outings off-site and help ensure a meaningful and safe trip for all residents.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the DLE.
