Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and be comfortable communicating with residents, families, and staff. Prior experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Background in art, music, drama, or occupational therapy preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts.
• One-year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's Dementia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating and running community activities.
• Assist with monthly activities calendar and monthly newsletter (if necessary).
• Encourage residents to participate in activities, supporting independence.
• Help with ordering supplies and equipment for regular activities.
• May attend outings off-site and supervise trips to ensure safety.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the DLE.
• Maintain the Activity Participation Tracking Chart.
• Support the Parallel Programming schedule.
• Respect residents' privacy when interacting with residents or family.
