Job summary

Apploi is seeking an Activities Director for a nursing home, to plan engaging recreational programs that enhance residents' social, mental, and physical well‑being. The role emphasizes compassionate leadership and collaboration with nursing and social services.

The ideal candidate will hold NJ Activities Director certification (or be pursuing it) and have experience in long‑term care or healthcare environments, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as an Activities Director in New Jersey (or in the process of obtaining certification).
• Experience in long-term care or healthcare settings preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.
• Develop activity programs that cater to physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of residents.
• Supervise and train activity staff, ensuring effective implementation of programs.
• Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident progress.
• Work closely with nursing and social services to ensure residents' well-being.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and facility requirements.
