Job summary

Award Care invites applications for an Activity Director who will lead resident engagement and foster a vibrant community. You will plan, implement, and supervise engaging programs that support residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with residents, families, staff, and volunteers while ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years in therapeutic recreation or activity programming.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance practices related to resident activities.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, implement, and direct a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the individual interests, needs, and abilities of residents.
• Conduct and document resident assessments to identify recreational, therapeutic, and social needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized activity care plans that promote resident engagement and overall well-being.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, documentation standards, and quality assurance requirements.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and support activity department staff and volunteers.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets while maintaining cost-effective operations.
• Coordinate special events, community partnerships, and off-site recreational outings.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community organizations.
• Promote resident participation in activities that enhance quality of life and encourage social interaction.
• Continuously evaluate and improve programming to ensure meaningful and engaging experiences for residents.
