Job summary

Galloway Senior Living in Illinois is seeking an Activities Assistant to deliver engaging daily programs for residents under the direction of the Activities Director. You will set up, run, and break down activities, escort residents, and support community outings while adapting to varied care levels.

You’ll work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, maintain equipment inventories, and foster resident participation with warmth, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years’ experience working with the elderly preferred.
• Driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in daily activities alongside residents under the Activities Director’s plan.
• Set up and break down rooms, equipment, and materials for activities.
• Escort and assist residents to activities, including those with mobility or cognitive limitations.
• Assist with planned outings, including transporting residents to events as needed.
• Maintain inventory of activity equipment and supplies and report shortages.
• Promote resident participation and adapt activities for varied levels of care.
