Job summary

Essex Meadows in Essex, CT seeks a hospitality-focused Activities Assistant to join our team. You will help plan and run programs that meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents, in a beautiful senior living community near the shoreline.

The role supports a wide range of activities from clubs and cultural events to health, fitness and religious services, with some evening and weekend hours. This position emphasizes compassion, safety, and enriching resident life.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a social or recreational program preferred.
• Experience in geriatrics, recreation or social administration preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and use sound judgment to protect residents' safety and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating activities with the Community Life Services Director.
• Organize discussion groups, clubs, sensory, cultural and religious activities, entertainment and trips.
• Lead health & fitness activities and in-house programs; supervise special events and seminars.
