Job summary

Essex Meadows in Essex, CT, is seeking a Hospitality focused Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team. The role supports the Community Life Services Director by planning and coordinating activities designed to meet residents' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Qualifications include one year of experience in a social or recreational program; geriatrics or recreation background preferred. Flexibility with hours, including nights and weekends, and passing pre-employment screening are

• One year experience in a social or recreational program preferred.
• Experience in geriatrics, recreation or social administration preferred.
• Must have the ability to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations and to use appropriate judgment to protect the safety and dignity of the resident.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating activities with the Community Life Services Director.
• Activities and events, Sensory stimulation, Cultural activities, Religious services, Special entertainment, Off-property trips, Special events, IT support, In-house movies, Instructional courses such as arts & crafts, seminars, workshops, presentations, Health & fitness activities, Customized activities for Alzheimer/Dementia and Parkinson residents.

Pay: $18/hr. - $21.75/hr.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists with planning and coordinating with the Community Life Services Director:
