Placements24 seeks a Senior Production Manager (Live Events) to oversee all production elements for high-profile events in Randburg, Gauteng. You will manage technical aspects, budgets, schedules, safety, and on-site teams to ensure seamless execution from conception to completion.

The role requires leadership, cross-functional coordination, and a strong background in large-scale events, with travel as needed. A relevant degree in Event Management or Production is advantageous.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in live event production management, with a focus on large-scale concerts, festivals, or similar events.
• Experience managing complex technical productions and diverse teams.
• In-depth knowledge of event logistics, staging, sound, lighting, AV, and power distribution.
• Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight for events.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to live events.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• A relevant degree or diploma in Event Management, Production, Hospitality, or a related field is advantageous.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Randburg, Gauteng, and able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of all production elements for live events.
• Manage technical production aspects including sound, lighting, staging, AV, and special effects.
• Coordinate with artists, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth event operations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive event schedules and timelines.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and security protocols at all event venues.
• Manage event budgets effectively, tracking expenses and seeking cost-saving opportunities.
• Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Supervise and lead production crews, technical staff, and on-site teams.
• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments for potential event locations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any operational or technical issues that arise during events.
• Manage post-event debriefs and report on event success and areas for improvement.
