Job summary

IES is seeking a Litigation Specialist to provide advanced administrative and litigation support to the Legal Department. The role collaborates with attorneys, outside counsel, and insurance carriers to manage complex matters across all phases of litigation and claims management.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in legal studies or related field preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in litigation support, legal administration, or related legal support role preferred.
• Experience with complex litigation matters, insurance claims, or high-volume legal operations is preferred.
• Certifications or licenses as relevant to legal support may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and formats legal documents, pleadings, discovery materials, and related documents for review and approval.
• Coordinates insurance claim handling with adjusters, carriers, and outside counsel.
• Maintains electronic case files and litigation spreadsheet to track status and history.
• Monitors deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure timely compliance.
• Manages calendars for hearings, mediations, and trial preparation activities.
• Assists with document collection, review, and production for discovery and subpoenas.
• Drafts discovery responses and related document production for review.
• Drafts legal correspondence and settlement communications for review.
• Reviews filings for completeness and accuracy and ensures compliance with court rules.
• Provides guidance to junior staff and helps with training on procedures and systems.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and adheres to company policies.
• Supports coordination with internal departments and external counsel as needed.
