Taylor Root is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate for its Manhattan office to independently manage a NY personal injury caseload from start to trial.

The ideal candidate will handle motor vehicle, premises liability, and Labor Law matters, develop strategies, and supervise support staff, while negotiating favorable settlements and guiding cases toward trial readiness. This role is onsite in New York, NY.

Formación

• J.D. and active New York State Bar admission.
• 5–7 years of New York personal injury litigation experience.
• Experience independently managing a litigation caseload.
• Proven record of negotiating and closing bodily injury settlements.
• Extensive deposition and New York Supreme Court experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPLR, New York Labor Law, motor vehicle, and premises liability matters.
• Plaintiff-side experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supervising paralegals or case managers is a plus.
• Familiarity with Litify or Salesforce-based platforms is helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Independently manage a docket of motor vehicle, premises liability, and Labor Law matters
• Develop litigation strategy and move cases toward resolution
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Appear in New York State Supreme Court and argue motions
• Draft and oppose summary judgment motions involving Labor Law liability
• Evaluate case value, prepare settlement demands, and negotiate with carriers and defense counsel
• Represent clients at mediations and settlement conferences
• Supervise paralegals and review work product
• Maintain trial-ready files and supervise matters toward trial

Senior Litigation Associate - New York, NY - ONSITE

A prominent New York plaintiff-side personal injury firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to independently manage a caseload from its Manhattan office. This position is ideal for an attorney who is ready to own case strategy, valuation, settlement negotiations, and litigation outcomes while supervising the support staff assigned to their matters.

The associate will handle motor vehicle, premises liability, and New York Labor Law construction cases from suit through trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a docket of motor vehicle, premises liability, and Labor Law matters
• Develop litigation strategy and move cases efficiently toward resolution
• Handle claims involving Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6)
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Appear regularly in New York State Supreme Court and argue motions
• Draft and oppose summary judgment motions involving Labor Law liability and the serious injury threshold
• Evaluate case value, prepare settlement demands, and negotiate directly with carriers and defense counsel
• Represent clients at mediations and settlement conferences
• Retain and coordinate with medical, engineering, and construction safety experts
• Maintain trial-ready files and support matters proceeding to trial
• Supervise paralegals, delegate assignments, and review work product
• Conduct regular file reviews to ensure cases remain on track

Compensation and Schedule

• Base salary: Competitive base salary; depending on overall experience
• Location: Manhattan
• Schedule: 5x onsite required
