Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is recruiting for a Municipal Litigation Attorney to lead complex New York municipal and personal injury matters for a prominent plaintiff firm in New York City.

Role involves ownership from inception through resolution, mentoring junior attorneys, and contributing to a high-volume, fast-paced practice. Onsite schedule Monday–Friday with a strong base salary plus production and discretionary bonuses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of attorney/litigation experience.
• Active New York bar admission.
• Strong knowledge of New York personal injury law and procedure.
• Experience handling New York municipal claims.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy and client communication.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex New York municipal and personal injury cases from inception through settlement, trial, or verdict.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies to maximize client outcomes.
• Conduct depositions, motions, court appearances, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
• Provide leadership on case strategy and workflow.
• Support firm growth and development of the litigation practice.

MUNICIPAL LITIGATION ATTORNEY – PLAINTIFF PERSONAL INJURY

Location: New York, NY

Work Setup: Onsite, Monday–Friday

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 base salary, plus production and discretionary bonuses

Benefits: Full benefits with 100% of employee premiums paid by the firm

Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

A highly respected and rapidly growing New York City plaintiff personal injury firm is seeking an experienced Municipal Litigation Attorney to join its team.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished litigator to take ownership of complex New York municipal and personal injury matters from inception through resolution while helping mentor junior attorneys and staff. The firm is looking for an attorney who is passionate about litigation, produces high-quality work, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

What You’ll Do

• Manage complex New York municipal and personal injury cases from inception through settlement, trial, or verdict
• Develop and execute litigation strategies designed to maximize outcomes for clients
• Conduct depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, hearings, and trials
• Handle matters involving New York municipal claims and related procedural requirements
• Communicate regularly with clients, experts, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
• Manage a substantial caseload while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail
• Mentor and support junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff
• Provide leadership on case strategy, workflow, and departmental initiatives
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm's litigation practice

What You Bring

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active admission to practice law in New York
• Minimum 5 years of attorney/litigation experience
• Significant experience handling New York municipal claims
• Strong plaintiff personal injury litigation background
• Experience managing cases throughout the litigation lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of New York personal injury law, litigation procedure, and court practice
• Excellent written, oral advocacy, negotiation, and client communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a high-volume environment
• Strong judgment, organization, and attention to detail
• Genuine passion for litigation and delivering high-quality legal work
• Ability and willingness to work fully onsite Monday–Friday in New York City

Preferred

• Trial experience and a demonstrated record of successfully resolving personal injury matters
• Prior leadership, management, or supervisory experience within a law firm or litigation department
• Experience mentoring junior attorneys, paralegals, or support staff

Compensation And Benefits

• $150,000–$300,000 base salary, negotiable based on experience
