Plaintiff-Side Litigation Associate - New York City

We are working with a growing Manhattan law firm seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join its plaintiff-side practice.

This is an opportunity for an attorney with 4-7 years of litigation experience who wants to take ownership of cases and gain meaningful hands-on experience with depositions, court appearances, settlement negotiations, motion practice, and trial preparation.

The associate will manage a reasonable caseload and have direct involvement throughout the lifecycle of each matter, from pleadings and discovery through settlement, dispositive motions, and trial. The practice focuses primarily on plaintiff-side matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other serious injury claims.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing litigation matters with a significant degree of autonomy
• Communicating directly with clients
• Drafting pleadings, notices of claim, discovery demands and responses, and motions
• Conducting and defending depositions and examinations before trial
• Handling substantive court conferences and oral arguments
• Negotiating settlements
• Working with experts and preparing CPLR 3101(d) disclosures
• Drafting and opposing motions in limine
• Participating in pre-trial conferences and trial preparation

The firm is particularly interested in attorneys with 4-7 years of substantive litigation experience. Prior plaintiff-side experience is preferred, but attorneys with relevant litigation experience who are interested in transitioning to a plaintiff-side practice are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of matters while also valuing the opportunity to work closely with and receive mentorship from experienced litigators.

New York Bar admission is required. Additional state and federal court admissions are a plus.

Compensation: $135,000-$155,000, depending on experience
