Job summary
Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a Principal Linux Systems Engineer to lead Linux platform administration, hardware qualification, and delivery for our nuclear-related products and services. The role is hybrid, onsite a few days per week with occasional travel.
You will report to the Manager Software Systems Technology, Nuclear Fuel Technology Engineering, and collaborate with engineering teams to deploy applications, apply security updates, and resolve system
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Linux expertise: 6+ years Linux administration (SUSE preferred)
- Able to independently analyze and solve a variety of system problems
- Practical experience with Networking/NFS, RAID, BIOS/UEFI, iLO, authentication methods, patching, and Linux firewall
Responsibilities
- Perform system administration of corporate Linux platforms and hardware maintenance for qualified platforms
- Install and configure base OS, deploy security updates, and coordinate site delivery and maintenance
- Collaborate with engineering users to deploy applications and resolve issues
