Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer to oversee design, development and analysis of complex mechanical products and systems. The role reports to Mechanical Systems and Equipment Nuclear Plant Mechanical Engineering and is hybrid, requiring several on-site days at Cranberry Woods HQ with some telecommuting.

No relocation offered. Key responsibilities include leading design teams, reviewing licensing submittals, mentoring engineers and coordinating resources

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of applicable experience in mechanical systems engineering.
• Broad knowledge of engineering procedures and systems design.
• Experience with fluid systems and/or solid-state machines and I&C interfaces.
• Experience leading technical teams on complex tasks.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design efforts for mechanical systems or projects.
• Review and co-author documents and licensing submittals.
• Mentor engineers and lead a team on complex tasks.
• Plan system design activities, reviews, and interfaces with other systems.
• Identify risks, resource needs and drive issue resolution across stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners, national labs, vendors and customers.
• Present findings and participate in audits and regulatory meetings.
