Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure across on‑prem and multi-cloud environments. You will lead efforts on Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu, manage Canonical Landscape, enforce MFA, and drive security hardening and automation.

You will implement IaC with Ansible/Terraform, oversee virtualization/storage, and support Tier 3 escalation for engineering services in a fast-paced defense-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
• 8–12 years of total IT infrastructure experience, with 6+ years in enterprise Linux systems administration.
• Deep, hands-on administration of Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ubuntu Server.
• Experience managing Linux endpoints at scale using Canonical Landscape, Red Hat Satellite, or Foreman.
• Experience implementing Linux MFA, PAM, SSSD/FreeIPA integration, and LDAP bridging.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, and maintain mission-critical Linux servers across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Architect, deploy, and administer Canonical Landscape for hundreds of Ubuntu endpoints.
• Implement and enforce MFA and PAM authentication frameworks across desktop and SSH logins.
• Harden systems to NIST SP 800-171/CMMC Level 2 and CIS benchmarks with SELinux/AppArmor and auditd.
• Develop and maintain IaC and configuration baselines using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef.
• Configure storage and virtualization (LVM, NFS, iSCSI, SAN; VMware ESXi/vCenter).
• Provide Tier 3 escalation for engineering toolchains and core services.
