Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to design, deploy, and secure enterprise Linux server infrastructure across on‑premises and multi‑cloud environments. You will own Canonical Landscape management, MFA integrations, and IaC automation.

The role requires deep expertise with Oracle Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu, VMware, and NIST 800-171/CMMC 2.0 Level 2, plus strong security hardening and automation skills. This is a high-impact, defense‑oriented position requiring a U.S. person status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with IT focus.
• 8–12 years IT infrastructure experience, 6+ years Linux admin.
• Deep administration of Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu Server.
• Experience with Canonical Landscape, Red Hat Satellite, or Foreman.
• Experience implementing MFA at desktop and SSH login (YubiKey, PKI/Smartcard, Duo).
• Direct experience hardening Linux to NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2, or DISA STIG requirements.
• Automation with Ansible and scripting in Bash or Python.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi and enterprise storage management (LVM, NFS, iSCSI).
• U.S. Person status due to ITAR/EAR compliance; ability to obtain DoD clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Linux Server Administration across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Manage Canonical Landscape to administer hundreds of Ubuntu endpoints.
• Implement MFA and PAM for desktop and SSH login.
• Harden Linux servers/workstations to NIST 800-171, CMMC2, DISA STIG requirements.
• Develop IaC and automation using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef, and scripting.
• Configure SAN/NAS storage and VMware virtualization for Linux guests.
• Tier 3 escalation support for engineering tools and services.
• Monitor health/telemetry and optimize performance.
