Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to design, deploy, secure, automate, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure across on‑prem and multi‑cloud environments. You will manage Canonical Landscape for hundreds of Ubuntu endpoints, implement MFA, and harden systems to NIST SP 800‑171/CMMC L2.

Strong IaC skills (Ansible, Terraform) and VMware/enterprise storage experience are required. The role requires deep Linux expertise, CI/CD tooling familiarity, and the ability to operate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
• 8–12 years IT infrastructure experience with 6+ years linux admin focus.
• Deep admin of Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu Server/Desktop.
• Experience managing Linux endpoints at scale with Canonical Landscape, Red Hat Satellite, or Foreman.
• Implement MFA for Linux desktops and SSH (YubiKey, PKI/Smartcard, Duo, Okta PAM).
• Experience hardening to NIST SP 800-171 / CMMC L2 / DISA STIG.
• Proficient in Ansible and Bash/Python scripting.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi and enterprise storage (LVM, NFS, iSCSI).
• Familiarity with OCI / AWS GovCloud / Azure Government and ITAR rules.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, and maintain Linux servers on‑prem and cloud.
• Architect and manage Canonical Landscape for hundreds of Ubuntu endpoints.
• Enforce MFA and PAM for desktop and SSH access; integrate with AD/LDAP.
• Harden systems to NIST SP 800-171, DISA STIG and CIS Level 2.
• Develop IaC and configuration baselines using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef.
• Administer virtualization and storage (VMware, LVM, NFS, iSCSI).
• Provide Tier 3 support for engineering toolchains, networks, and directories.
• Design backup, recovery, health telemetry (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix).
