Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Architect to join our SITEC III EOM team, on-site at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. You will design, deploy, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability for critical DoD systems.

You will develop automation with Ansible and Red Hat Satellite, lead incident response, maintain documentation, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams across time zones to meet mission

Qualifications

• Must have DoD/USSOCOM environment experience and clearance.
• Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years AS/AA, 8 years BS/BA required.
• DoW 8570.01-M IAT II compliance essential.
• DoW 8140 compliance under Work Role Code 451.
• Proficient with Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, and automation tools.
• Strong Linux admin, networking, and security knowledge.
• Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware).
• Analytical, problem-solving, and strong communication.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage RHEL systems for DoD missions.
• Develop automation scripts using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
• Perform updates, patches, and upgrades to keep systems current.
• Enforce security policies and monitor security alerts.
• Provide tier 3 support and document configurations and procedures.
• Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and other teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide training.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide Red Hat technology training.
