Job summary

ASEC in Patuxent River, MD is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to ensure secure configurations, maintain hardened baselines, and support RMF/NIST compliance.

The role emphasizes automation with Ansible, STIGs, ACAS, and VMware ESXi, with monthly RHEL updates and ATO documentation. Applicants must have 7 years of DoD experience and an active Top Secret clearance; this is an on-site role requiring US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in DoD classified networks is required.
• Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience with Confluence and Jira.
• Familiarity with SolarWinds monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Ensure secure Linux configurations by applying DISA STIGs.
• Manage vulnerability assessments with ACAS and EvaluateSTIG.
• Maintain and secure VMware ESXi hypervisors.
• Automate routine tasks with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Apply RHEL updates monthly to keep environment secure.
• Collaborate with DevOps and security teams on automation.
• Release RHEL hardened templates with ATO documentation.
• Monitor Linux and ESXi for performance and security.
• Support RMF compliance (FISMA, NIST 800-53, DoD SRG).
• Maintain documentation in Confluence and track tasks in Jira.
• Operate SolarWinds monitoring and auditing tools.
