Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer for our Chantilly, VA office to support a DoD Community program. You will design, deploy, and operate a highly available ground system, building cloud instances, containers, and automation to streamline processes.

You will develop Ansible playbooks, configure security and PKI, and collaborate with stakeholders across lifecycle stages while leveraging Red Hat technologies to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Minimum Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and maintain clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering with 6+ years’ related experience or 8+ years without degree
• Strong Linux/Windows OS knowledge and automation tooling experience
• Experience building/configuring systems from scratch and troubleshooting with automation
• Experience with Ansible playbooks for deployment/patching
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar for automation
• Experience with identity management systems (IDAM) and PKI infrastructure
• Experience with RHEL 9.x and up, OS config, and software installation
• Familiarity with security hardening, SELinux, and patching
• Proficiency with Git for collaboration and code review
• Experience with Kubernetes and container tooling is desired
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools and dashboards

Responsibilities

• Develop/deploy Ansible playbooks for automated provisioning and patching
• Build and operate mission-critical, high-availability cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with DoD customer and stakeholders across lifecycle phases
• Configure security, certificates, and authentication per best practices
• Document infrastructure deployments and validation plans
• Support system design expansion to meet program needs
• Utilize automation to improve deployment efficiency and reliability
• Troubleshoot PKI, network, and OS/infrastructure issues
• Hardening and security tooling to maximize uptime and reduce risk
