Raytheon seeks a senior Linux systems engineer to design, deploy, and maintain RHEL-based environments in a DoD-related context at Woburn, MA.

The role focuses on OS hardening, security baselines, and automation using Ansible or similar IaC tools, with collaboration across engineering teams to ensure secure, scalable systems. U.S. citizenship and interim/active clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field with 8+ years of experience.
• Hands-on RHEL administration experience and OS hardening.
• Experience with security baselines and compliance frameworks (STIGs, CIS).
• Must be able to obtain Interim Secret U.S. security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain RHEL-based systems in production and development environments.
• Implement OS hardening standards and security controls across Linux systems.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows using Ansible or similar IaC tools.
• Write scripts to support configuration, monitoring, and operations.
• Apply systems engineering to requirements, design, verification, and lifecycle support.
• Troubleshoot issues across Linux/Windows hosts, networks, and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
• Participate in reviews, architecture discussions, and design planning.
