Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator in the United States to design, deploy, secure, automate, and maintain enterprise Linux server infrastructure across on‑prem and multi‑cloud environments.

The role requires deep knowledge of Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu, plus experience with Canonical Landscape, MFA, and NIST/CMMC compliance. Hybrid work optional; U.S. person with security clearances may be considered.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
• Experience: 8–12 years IT infra, with 6+ years in enterprise Linux systems administration.
• Distribution Mastery: Oracle Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu Server/Desktop.
• Fleet Management: Canonical Landscape, Red Hat Satellite, or Foreman.
• Authentication & MFA: Linux MFA/PKI integration, SSH MFA.
• Compliance & Hardening: NIST SP 800‑171, CMMC Level 2, DISA STIG.
• Automation: Ansible proficiency; Bash/Python scripting.
• Virtualization & Storage: VMware vSphere/ESXi; LVM, NFS, iSCSI, SAN.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Linux Server Administration: Design, build, configure, and maintain mission‑critical Linux servers on‑prem and in cloud.
• Developer Fleet Management: Manage Canonical Landscape to handle configurations, repos, and patching for Ubuntu endpoints.
• Identity & Access Management: Implement MFA, PAM, SSSD/FreeIPA, AD/LDAP bridging, and centralized sudoers.
• CMMC L2 & Security Compliance: Harden systems to NIST SP 800‑171, DISA STIG; SELinux/AppArmor enforcement.
• Automation & Configuration Management: IaC and baselines using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef, Bash/Python.
• Storage & Virtualization: Configure SAN/NAS, iSCSI/NFS, LVM, and VMware virtualization for Linux guests.
• Engineering Tools & Service Desk Escalation: Tier‑3 support for toolchains, licenses, and core services.
• High Availability & DR: Design backup/recovery workflows; monitor health with Prometheus/Grafana/Zabbix.
