Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to design, deploy, secure, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure across on‑prem and multi‑cloud environments. The role requires expertise in Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu, with hands‑on experience in MFA, PAM, and security hardening.

You will manage Canonical Landscape at scale, implement IaC with Ansible and Terraform, and support virtualization using VMware vSphere and storage technologies. A DoD‑readiness posture may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8–12 years of total IT infrastructure experience, with at least 6+ years focused on enterprise Linux systems administration.
• Deep, hands‑on administration of Oracle Linux (UEK), RHEL, and Ubuntu Server/Desktop.
• Proven experience managing Linux endpoints at scale using Canonical Landscape, Red Hat Satellite, or Foreman.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Linux desktop and SSH Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) integrations.
• Direct experience hardening Linux environments to NIST SP 800‑171, CMMC Level 2, or DISA STIG requirements.
• Strong proficiency in Ansible and scripting with Bash or Python.
• Solid experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and enterprise storage management (LVM, NFS, iSCSI, SAN).
• Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR/EAR requirements; ability to obtain DoD clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Linux Server Administration across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Developer Fleet Management using Canonical Landscape for hundreds of Ubuntu endpoints.
• Identity & Access Management with MFA integration and PAM configuration.
• Harden Linux servers to NIST SP 800‑171, DISA STIG, CIS Level 2 benchmarks.
• Automation & Configuration Management using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef, and scripting.
• Storage & Virtualization with SAN/NAS, iSCSI, NFS, LVM, VMware ESXi/vCenter.
• Service Desk escalation for engineering applications, licenses, and directory services.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery planning, monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana/Zabbix.
