Job summary

ASEC is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator for NAS Patuxent River, MD to ensure secure configurations, maintain hardened baselines, and produce accreditation artifacts for DoD environments.

You will manage DISA STIGs, ACAS, VMware ESXi, and Ansible automation, while collaborating with DevOps and security teams to sustain RMF compliance and ATO readiness. Active Top Secret clearance required and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience supporting DoD classified networks.
• Must have deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience with Confluence and Jira required.
• Familiarity with SolarWinds monitoring and auditing tools preferred.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring secure and compliant Linux OS configurations by applying DISA STIGs to prevent misconfiguration and audit issues.
• Managing vulnerability assessments with ACAS and EvaluateSTIG, producing accreditation artifacts to maintain ATO compliance.
• Maintaining and securing VMware ESXi hypervisors, including patching and hardening host systems.
• Automating routine tasks using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to improve consistency and reduce manual error.
• Applying RHEL updates monthly to maintain a secure environment.
• Collaborating with DevOps and security teams to support modern automation practices.
