Job summary

Strategic Data Systems seeks a capable Unix/Linux System Administrator to support a DoN customer at Dahlgren, VA. The role focuses on operating systems, security, and data integrity in RDT&E environments, with collaboration across engineers and scientists.

Active TS clearance, Security+ CE, and IAT Level 3 are required, with 6+ years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include configuring networks, deploying hardware, and ensuring robust backups and software management.

Qualifications

• Six years of Unix/Linux system administration experience.
• Experience with backups, recovery, and security management.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, network security tools, and firewalls.
• Experience in diverse operating environments and vendor interaction.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, design, and implement solutions for network architectures.
• Administer servers, end-user workstations, and clusters in unclassified/classified networks.
• Assist with hardware acquisitions, operating policy, and vendor interaction.
• Support scientists and engineers in solving computation issues.
• Manage user workstations, software, licenses, and data backups.
