Erias Ventures, LLC in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking an Application Engineer to work across hosting platforms supporting Linux VMs, Kubernetes, and DevOps. The role emphasizes security, certificate lifecycle, and collaboration with development teams.

This position requires extensive experience with OpenStack/VMware/AWS, Ansible automation, and strong Linux administration, with potential partial telework. A Top-Secret/SCI clearance is required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Twelve years minimum experience and HS Diploma/GED; or higher degrees with corresponding years.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL 8/9) and Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher.
• Automation with Ansible; familiarity with OpenStack/VMware/AWS.
• Experience applying security hardening (STIG/SSP) and maintaining compliance documentation.
• Experience with Apache NiFi or similar data integration tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot SSH, performance and network issues on Linux.
• Manage certificate lifecycle and PKI and ensure security standards.
• Production Linux VMs and Kubernetes cluster monitoring and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage VM lifecycle: monitor health, update software, ensure security.
• Maintain Ansible playbooks and monitor Kubernetes clusters via Rancher or kubectl.
• Troubleshoot production Linux VMs and Kubernetes clusters.
• Support Apache NiFi deployments and resolve connectivity/resource issues.
• Manage server and PKI certificate lifecycle per security standards.
• Perform software updates, patching, and hardening via YUM/repositories.
• Collaborate with development teams and end users for operational support.
• Analyze logs and identify root causes of VM/container/app issues.
