Job summary

CSS is seeking a Senior Technical Sales Specialist - Lighting to drive large projects and growth in lighting products. You will present, demonstrate, and support technical solutions for customers and sales teams.

In this role, you will travel up to 50% and serve as a product domain expert, delivering pre- and post-sales support, and staying current with industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Electrical industry experience as a manufacturer or distributor.
• 5+ years Sales experience in related industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering or Business; High School or equivalent required.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to travel 25% - 50%.

Responsibilities

• Calls on clients and management to demonstrate desirability of technical products or services.
• Provides technical services related to specified products.
• Develops product and application information, demonstrating technology solutions for customers.
• Gathers, analyzes and shares technical information with internal and external customers.
• First line of pre/post technical sales support for sales teams.
• Acts as domain expert internally and externally on specified products.
• Leads joint sales calls with customers and prospects.
• Assists account reps in finding new sales opportunities by teaching and guiding.
• Participates in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in product areas.
• Understands market conditions, competitive forces and growth opportunities.
• Understands industry trends affecting target markets.
• Promotes value-added products in competitive situations.
• Administers marketing, promotions and product launches from product businesses.
• Maintains relationships with vendor product managers and selling resources.
