Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
• Typically a minimum six years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire where applicable.
• Prior negotiation experience.
• Professional designations preferred (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex commercial claims with large exposures following company protocols to verify policy coverage, investigations, and settlements.
• Provides exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim and communicating updates to insureds and partners.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by reviewing policy language and working with coverage counsel on complex matters.
• Leads focused investigations to determine compensability, liability and covered damages.
• Develops and executes claim resolution strategies, including reserves management and settlements.
• Establishes and manages claim budgets and resources for efficient service.
• Identifies subrogation, salvage opportunities, or potential fraud for escalation.
• Maintains compliance with state/local regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
• Mentors and trains less experienced Claim Professionals.
