Ameritas, a leading insurance and financial services provider, is seeking a Sr. Life Claims Examiner. You will evaluate complex life claims, analyze medical and financial documentation, and adjudicate decisions in line with state and federal laws while delivering timely service to clients.

The role is remote in Nebraska or Ohio with flexible hybrid options and opportunities to collaborate with Legal, Medical/Underwriting, and senior staff to ensure accurate outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 1-3 years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and authorizes disposition of complex claims.
• Obtains and analyzes medical records and financial documents.
• Initiates and monitors medical reviews, independent medical examinations, surveillance, and financial reviews.
• Corresponds with policyholders, attorneys, medical facilities, reinsurers, outside vendors, and insured's employer.
• Interacts with Legal and Medical/Underwriting departments for opinions.
• Makes decisions on evaluation of claims using judgment and collaboration with senior associates.
• Assists with recoveries from reinsurance carriers.
• Performs all claims processing support functions.
