Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Sr Life Underwriter to support the underwriting of life insurance cases from a remote environment. The role involves risk selection, collaboration with Underwriting, New Business and distribution teams, and approvals up to multi-million dollar levels.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of life underwriting, relevant certifications, and strong MS Office/AWD skills. Flexibility to work remotely and in a team setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• A minimum of 4 years life or health underwriting experience.
• Minimum of two LOMA classes, working toward FLMI designation.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills when working with different levels of both internal and external audiences.
• Ability to work independently and possibly work in remote setting with virtual environment and team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the effective risk selection of cases reviewed.
• Interactions with Underwriting, New Business and distribution groups.
• Approval authority up to $1,500,000–$2,500,000 through all tables and all ages; can evaluate up to $3,500,000.
