Job summary

West Coast Trial Lawyers is seeking an experienced Lien Negotiator in Phoenix to independently resolve medical liens on settled personal injury cases. You will partner with attorneys and case managers to maximize client recoveries and ensure timely case closure.

The role requires hands-on lien negotiation experience with hospitals, insurers, Medicare/Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders, along with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of direct lien negotiation experience in a plaintiff personal injury law firm.
• Experience negotiating medical liens from start to finish.
• Experience negotiating with hospitals, insurers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of lien resolution and settlement processes.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with Filevine or similar case management software preferred.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently negotiate and resolve medical liens on settled personal injury cases.
• Communicate with hospitals, medical providers, insurers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders.
• Review settlement statements and analyze lien balances to identify reductions.
• Obtain, review, and reconcile final lien balances before settlement disbursement.
• Prepare and maintain accurate lien documentation and settlement records.
• Ensure timely follow-up with lienholders and maintain communication throughout negotiation.
• Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and settlement teams to facilitate resolution.
• Prioritize and manage a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain accurate case notes in the firm's case management system.
