Job summary

BD&J, PC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Lien Negotiator (Personal Injury) to maximize client settlements by negotiating down medical liens. This onsite role requires strong communication, negotiation skills, and attention to detail, with preference for bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates.

Responsibilities include reviewing case files, negotiating with providers and insurers, documenting all communications, and drafting settlement summaries.

Qualifications

• 2+ years negotiating medical liens in personal injury settings
• Familiarity with lien types: Medi-Cal, Medicare, hospital liens, ERISA
• Strong negotiation and communication skills; detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Review case files and lien documentation
• Negotiate lien reductions with providers, insurers, and lienholders
• Document negotiations in case management system
• Draft settlement disbursement summaries and finalize client nets
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely lien resolution
• Apply Medi-Cal, Medicare, ERISA, and hospital lien regulations
• Identify unreasonable charges and challenge them with facts
• Communicate lien resolutions and net amounts to clients
