Job summary

AMSURG, a national leader in ambulatory surgery centers, seeks a Sr. Licensure & Certification Specialist to support the Director and the Licensure & Certification team in Nashville, TN.

This role focuses on timely license renewals and registrations, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple agencies. The position involves coordinating with state and federal agencies, internal departments, and legal representatives to manage complex licensure processes under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience is required. Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal preferred.
• Experience in healthcare required.
• Experience in Legal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Renew state and federal licenses for ambulatory surgery centers (state licenses, DEA, CLIA permits, state clinical lab permits, pharmacy licenses, radiation licenses, blood bank licenses, and controlled substance licenses).
• Manage Medicare and Medicaid enrollment for centers, including Railroad Medicare and Tricare.
• Report changes to licensing agencies, Medicare/Medicaid, and accreditation bodies.
• Regularly contact state and federal licensing agencies and internal departments by phone and correspondence.
• Provide timely turnaround of license renewals, reportable changes, and Medicare/Medicaid revalidations.
• Work within deadlines and maintain confidentiality while coordinating with L&C staff.
• Develop policies and procedures for the department for assigned states; participate in other projects.
