Job summary

The ASPCA’s Community Medicine team seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician Staff and Floor Manager for the Community Veterinary Clinic in the Bronx. You will direct floor workflow, support HQHVSN and primary pet care, and collaborate with veterinarians to deliver high-quality care for cats and dogs in underserved communities.

You will supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with CM protocols, mentor team members, and assist with training and resident programs while maintaining compassionate,

Qualifications

• Must have NYS Veterinary Technician license.
• Minimum five years experience as a RVT in small animal medicine and surgery.
• Experience in shelter medicine and/or high volume spay/neuter surgery strongly preferred.
• Minimum two years people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of veterinary technician functions, including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation and assistance.
• Work side by side with staff veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to support HQHVSN and PPC for cats and dogs.
• Use low-stress, gentle animal handling techniques to provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals, staff, and clients.
• Coach nursing staff to handle patients in a gentle, low-stress manner and to communicate effectively with clients.
