Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking an Assistant, Senior Library for HYS Campus to coordinate circulation services, supervise staff, and maintain collections in a dynamic, customer-focused library. Responsibilities include training, statistics, and ensuring confidentiality of patron information in a highly automated setting.

The role involves opening/closing the library, overseeing multiple locations, and collaborating with ACC teams to promote student success and equitable access to library

Qualifications

• Two years related work experience.
• Associate degree; four years of related work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• Knowledge of ACC Library Services Policy and Procedures Manual and inter-library loan processes.
• Familiar with new technologies such as tablet bundles, maker kits, desktop authentication, and VDI Workstations.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with directional questions, equipment use, and updating patron information.
• Oversee circulation responsibilities across collections and technology.
• Ensure workflow and confidentiality per ACC and Library Services policies.
• Compile and maintain library statistics (usage, inventories, repairs).
• Coordinate and supervise circulation staff and assign priorities, training, and workloads.
• Reconcile library fines, issue invoices, and submit deposits.
