Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking an experienced on-the-floor engineer to support PA hardware on the production line, own resolution of build issues, and drive continuous improvement across the production system. You will work with design, manufacturing, quality, test, and operations to improve yield, protect configuration, and ensure hardware readiness for test and flight.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in production, test, or sustaining engineering for aerospace structures, launch vehicles, or aircraft including significant experience with composites structures.
• Hands-on experience supporting hardware on a production floor with technicians, quality, and manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledge of metallic and composite structural design and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering liaison for PA hardware on the production floor.
• Own MRB disposition of nonconformances, concessions, and repair plans for PA hardware.
• Lead triage, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for build issues, escapes, and test anomalies.
• Support daily production operations: respond to line stops, triage defects, review test data.
• Coordinate with design to implement ECRs/ECOs for PA hardware and provide feedback to drawings and instructions.
• Analyze and monitor production defects and test escapes to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Support readiness reviews, RCCAs, and anomaly boards with clear technical content.
• Maintain status of production risks and improvements for PA hardware.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
