Job summary

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office in Hillsboro, Oregon, seeks a detail-oriented Senior Legal Specialist to join the Records and Analytics Support (RAS) Team. You will support criminal prosecution work and advance data-driven operational decision making and public reporting, handling high-volume data entry with strong accuracy.

Qualifications

• Five years of admin/clerical support, three years at Legal Specialist II, in a public or private law office.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field or paralegal certificate may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex or specialized projects, including time-sensitive ad-hoc data quality reviews for presentations to officials or media.
• Train and mentor new team members; help develop policies and procedures.
• Serve as SME on Diversion/Early Case Resolution and Deflection/Conditional Discharge processes.
• Attend court to support attorneys and provide real-time data tracking.
• Create electronic case files for new defendants and review/import data for accuracy.
• Collect reports from law enforcement and distribute materials for review before charging deadlines.
• Create electronic case files for non-booked referrals; identify charges, locations, victims, witnesses, and officers.
• Request additional case materials; update case records as new information arrives.
• Maintain data quality by validating entries and applying standardized codes.
• Monitor electronic communications and process court documents (motions, orders, notifications).
• Create and maintain profiles for defendants, victims, witnesses, and others involved.
• Enter judgment, sentencing, and probation information; update records as conditions change.
• Process court hearings, research import errors, and notify staff about dates or cancellations.
