Douglas County District Attorney in Oregon seeks an entry/intermediate level legal support specialist to assist prosecutors. The role includes routine clerical work, filing, discovery handling, and preparation of court documents in an at-will position.

Qualifications

• Three years clerical experience of a progressively responsible nature; public/private law experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard legal office practices and court rules.
• Advanced keyboarding and computer skills; dictation and document drafting ability.

Responsabilités

• Provide routine legal office clerical support for trial preparation and sentencing.
• Prepare and disclose discovery; handle evidence and digital media for disclosure.
• Type letters, forms, and memos; draft basic legal documents for review.
• Review forms and records for accuracy; research discrepancies when needed.
• Enter information into databases and manage calendar, filings, and deadlines.
• Answer calls and inquiries from victims, witnesses, public, police, and staff.
• Maintain trial calendars and tickler systems; schedule interviews and meetings.
