Bechtel seeks a Senior Legal Counsel based in Santiago, Chile, to support its Mining & Metals GBU. The role focuses on front-end bidding, contract review, and negotiation for high-value engineering projects across LATAM, with emphasis on governance and compliance.

The candidate should bring extensive in-house experience, strong advisory and drafting skills, and fluency in English and Spanish. Travel to support negotiations and development efforts is expected, and Chilean or regional admission is

Formación

• Requires a law degree and admission as a lawyer (preferably in Chile or elsewhere in Latin America, but other jurisdictions would be considered) and a minimum of 13-15 years of relevant experience.

Responsabilidades

• Front-end bidding and negotiating for high value contracts in the engineering, construction & project management space.
• Review, preparation and negotiation of contracts and related documents (including proposals, subcontracts, joint venture agreements and confidentiality agreements).
• Ongoing support to projects under development, once contracts are won and signed.
• A mixed collection of other types of work that commonly come with in-house roles.
• Assisting the governance processes within the business, by supporting compliance with internal policies associated with the above work.
