Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago seeks a Billing Senior Specialist to assist attorneys in preparing client bills and manage past-due accounts. You will provide administrative and accounting support to attorneys and the accounting department, research billing issues, generate proformas, invoices, and reporting, and maintain client accounts in accordance with Outside Counsel Guidelines.

Ideal candidate has at least five years of law-firm billing experience, deep knowledge of 3E and E-billing systems,

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience as a billing specialist in a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of 3E and e-billing systems.
• Ability to manage the largest and most complex billing arrangements while delivering high-quality client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute client bills and proformas.
• Follow up on past due accounts and ensure timely collections.
• Research billing issues and ensure compliance with Outside Counsel Guidelines.
• Mentor and train junior billing staff and collaborate with billing and finance teams.
• Produce billing reports and maintain accurate matter/timekeeper rates.
