Job summary

McKesson Corporation in Richmond, VA is seeking a Sr. Analyst – Lease Accounting to lead monthly and quarterly lease accounting under ASC 842, driving accuracy in ROUs, liabilities, and rent expense.

Hybrid work arrangement with relocation support available. You will partner with Real Estate, Financial Shared Services, FP&A and offshore staff to ensure precise financial reporting, close processes, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including lease accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• CPA, or CPA candidate, preferred; ASC 842 experience preferred
• Experience with close execution, internal controls, reconciliations, and automation preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 842 lease accounting guidance
• Ability to analyze lease agreements and identify accounting implications
• Experience with lease accounting systems and ERP platforms

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and quarterly lease accounting activities, including journal entries and reconciliations for ROU assets and lease liabilities
• Ensure ASC 842 compliance for operating and finance leases
• Maintain lease accounting data for new leases, modifications, renewals, impairments and terminations
• Partner cross-functionally to evaluate lease contracts and amendments
• Prepare monthly/quarterly schedules and analyses for management and external reporting; present to senior management
• Oversee recurring accounting activities performed by offshore team members
• Drive efficiencies with automation and AI tool initiatives
• Support external audits and SOX testing; coordinate with auditors
• Participate in special projects including separations and process redesign
