Job summary

Cengage Group in Ohio, USA, is seeking Learning Managers to shape higher education materials and career-training curricula. You will apply learning science, collaborate across editorial, strategy, marketing, and content creation, and help ensure content meets customers’ needs and Cengage’s strategic vision.

You will design digital content, support authors and freelancers, and promote accessibility and inclusivity, leveraging agile methods and platform knowledge.

Qualifications

• Educational or professional background in instructional design, learning design, or related field.
• Experience in designing inclusive content for diverse audiences.
• Teaching experience in higher education.
• Subject Matter Expertise in Social Science fields, such as Psychology, Political Science, or History

Responsibilities

• Inform and update author content and pedagogy with universal and portfolio-specific perspective based in learning theory.
• Serve as the student journey and discipline-level learning design expert, collaborating with editorial, business strategy, marketing, authoring and content creation, and production.
• Review content and update plans against editorial strategy, quality learning standards, and research-based insights.
• Design digital content to fill gaps and improve learning based on platform functionalities and user analytics.
• Design improvements for accessibility, equity, and inclusivity in all content and authoring.
• Collaborate with authors/subject matter experts and team members throughout the curriculum development process.
• Establish and maintain field tools and guidelines for field content creation/creators.
• Support freelance and vendor content creators to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Apply emerging learning trends and stay current with EdTech and discipline trends.
