Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking Learning Managers to drive content strategy and learning design for higher education and career-training curricula. You will collaborate with editorial, production, researchers, and external partners to align content with learners’ needs and Cengage’s strategic vision.

Utilize learning theory, platform insights, and inclusive design to improve materials, mentor authors, and manage complex projects in a dynamic remote-work environment.

Qualifications

• Educational background in instructional design or related field.
• Experience teaching in higher education is preferred.
• Subject Matter Expertise in Social Science fields (Psychology, Political Science, History) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inform and update author content and pedagogy with learning theory and currency.
• Serve as the student journey learning design expert across editorial, business strategy, and content teams.
• Review content against editorial strategy and learning standards for consistency and quality.
• Design digital content to improve learning using platform insights and analytics.
• Advocate for accessibility, equity, and inclusivity in content and authoring.
• Collaborate with authors and stakeholders throughout curriculum development.
• Establish and maintain field tools and guidelines for content creation.
• Support vendors and freelance creators to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Apply trends in edtech and learning science to innovate design.
